TV tuners are pretty cool! You can use them as makeshift capture cards :)

This is composite PAL video from a PS2. Looks pretty nice to me!

Notes for future me and the reader:
  1. This is a Miro PCTV tuner, based on the Brooktree Bt848 chipset.
  2. If your capture is very low res, try running tvtime, that should allow you to set the size of the captured image.
  3. If your capture is noise even when you connect the composite/S-Video cable, be aware that VLC is not aware of capture cards with multiple inputs (but OBS is!)
